Daddy Was Wrong When He Said “You Can’t Make A Living Off Music!”
Ever wondered how much your favourite band or current pop starlet is actually earning? Well Billboard in the US has just released what it has worked out to be the top 40 earners in music for 2009. The list (in US dollars) is calculated through sales of albums, songs, concert tickets and merchandise after expenses.
There are some surprises in the list including people who didn’t really do anything in 2009, some notable inclusions and a few old chestnuts we already knew were raking it in. Country musicians rake it in with half a dozen artists in the list. 2 Aussie acts make it in AC/DC and Keith Urban, Pink who made most of her money off her massive Australian tour last year and Bono’s lads turn up at number 1.
