Johnny Rotten (aka John Lydon) recently spoke about the reforming of his seminal band Public Image Ltd. According to Rotten, he has begun writing again for some new P.I.L material and has even hinted at doing some more Sex Pistols stuff.
The Sex Pistols broke up after only being together for a year and half back in 1978 but still occasionally put their differences aside to tour like in ’96, ’02 and ’03.

AJ Maddah, the genius (in my opinion) behind Soundwave and regular tweeter has been suggesting that he will be bringing out My Chemical Romance this year. MCR were supposed to play 2010’s Soundwave but pulled out due to their drummer leaving and work on last years album “Danger Days”.

2011 will continue the fad of old groups returning from “hiatus” to record and tour. Blink 182 are in the studio working on their new record and now Gwen Stefani’s old band No Doubt are writing new songs as well. I guess when solo projects and side projects fail, you always have something to fall back on.......

Foo Fighters have finished recording their seventh record. Dave Grohl in interviews have described the 11 tracks on the album as “massive” and

This year truly is shaping up as punk rock lovers wet dream with new tours announced by pyschobilly act HorrorPops, Star Fucking Hipsters and Against Me! touring in the next few months.
And record wise, new discs for Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Cold War Kids, Rise Against, Yellowcard, Travis Barker and Sum 41.
I may need a second job to pay for all this.......

Star Fucking Hipsters & AC4 will crash into our shores and tear up our stages in their first tour to Australia this April. AC4 features ex-Refused/International Noise Conspiracy front man Dennis Lyxzen and play straight out hardcore, while Star Fucking Hipsters feature members of Leftover Crack/Choking Victim & The Slackers to meld pop punk, ska and metal riffs into a crazy and anarchic sound and show.
When Leftover Crack performed in Australia last year, they treated fans to a few Star Fucking Hipster tracks in their set list and the response was so overwhelming Stza from the band knew he had to return with guys to play some shows.
The tour kicks off April 7th. With tickets on sale as of February 5 through www.newnoiseagency.com.au
April 7th - The Zoo in Brisbane
April 8th - The Wall in Sydney
April 9th - The Cambridge in Newcastle
April 10th - Blush nightclub in Gosford
April 14th - The Arthouse in Melbourne
"Because I've been able to get P.I.L. back together - and because I've really been in a songwriting mode - I can now look back on the Pistols and imagine writing with them, too. I wouldn't have been able to think about that if I hadn't gotten the P.I.L. thing going again. For me, there wouldn't be a P.I.L. if it weren't for them lads in the Pistols, so I feel responsive to their needs. If they want me to go out on tour with them I'm happy to oblige … until three weeks later when I'm not.”

“there’s not one sleepy ballad”.
The band have announced a run of dates to coincide with the northern hemisphere festival circuits in may/june of this year. My uninformed tip is they will return for our summer festival circuit in 2012.***************************** *****************************
