The NOFX front man has run into a wall of controversy over his solo show at Austin, Texas’ South By Southwest Music festival. Performing at the Emo Annex under the character of Cokie The Clown (named after the recent NOFX EP), the singer told wild stories of his past, mixed drinks, served shots to the audience and performed a handful of songs during a crazy hour set that left people stunned and horrified.
Retelling stories of how he did drugs at his father’s funeral, watched a girl get raped when only 16, have a housemate kill themselves, how he ended his terminally ill mother’s life and bizarre kinky sex stories involving “milking a woman to use the breast milk to make a White Russian.
Reports from the performance found the show, macabre, dark and horrifying. Reducing the audience to silence as each story told got more and more disturbing than the last. The finally is what tipped the crowd over the edge. At the start of the show Fat Mike came out with a bottle of tequila. Poured himself 5 shots and gave out about 6 shots to the audience. The end of the show saw him play a video of him urinating into the bottle of tequila that he served to the audience.
Authorities are likely to investigate the incident and the club, Emo Annex, has distanced themselves from the act. The response from the man himself via TMZ.com was,
"I confirmed that urine was not classified as a biohazard waste and not subject to the risks of legal ramifications of blood, semen, or feces (sic)."
