Two Hours Traffic - territory
November 10th 2010 22:20
This is a perfect blend of indie pop/rock from Canadian Two Hours Traffic. With opening track ‘Noisemaker’ with it’s instant hook, top tapping beat and infectious sing along lyrics, your ears are in for a treat. The duo keep the music simple, catchy and fun. Upbeat pop songs with a darker rock edge that comes through in songs like ‘Painted Halo’ with the lyric “are you drunk enough to kiss me”. As is standard par for indie lyrics, relationships play a part in most of the tracks. ‘Weightless One’, ‘Jezebel’ and ‘Happiness Knows’ are perfect examples of this.
What makes this album stand out from the pack of a thousand other indie pop bands is the catchiness of every one of the fifteen tracks on this album. In a modern age where singles take residence over an albums content, Two Hours Traffic have carefully refined all their songs to make this album one you can easily listen to from beginning to end. The songs flow nicely into each other with a good mix of pop, rock and more softer ballad style tracks. Currently touring with The Jezebels nationally, it’s well worth the while to check out their set.
