Sing It Loud - “everything collide”

Who likes their pop punk so sugar coated it’s almost makes you sick? Well if your 14 years old and get your musical opinions from channel V and Video Hits than I have found the next band of pretty boys for you to go wild over-Sing It Loud. “Everything Collide” is eleven tracks of the soppiest, cheesiest pop punk I’ve heard since Good Charlotte.
Maybe I’m just not in the mood for this life-is-great-because-I-love- you-and-our-lives-are-perfect -now rhetoric. But nothing on this album is original,it’s rehashing riffs and themes done a million times before by much better bands. (think New Found Glory, The Atari’s) The songs fit the formula. Verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bri dge/chorus, complete with sharp little guitar licks, four major chords and a bucket load of harmonies. There’s the ballad type love song in ‘Only One’, the obligatory party rock song, the acoustic track ‘Believe In Me’ and the song destined to feature in some sort of teen movie/tv show ‘Sugar Sweet’.
All in all this album is a cliche. And anyone over the age of 20 will find this irritating.
