Metal has humour? Austrian Death Machine shows how.
My good friend referred me to a MySpace band site. Of course I was skeptical but I fell in love with this band because it was heavy, has a beat and is actually kind of funny.
The selling point for Austrian Death Machine is everything is based on Arnie Schwarzenegger movies. Fucking classic. And the music is good to boot. Easy to bang thy head.
It's amazing what a niche topic will do to a band.
Austrian Death Machine is Tim Lambesis' baby. Lambesis of band As I Lay Dying, that is. Chad Ackerman provided the Arnie impersonations.Guitar solos are galore. Nice and camp. I love it, and you should too.
If you listen to them here, you could actually hear people having a fun time. And nothing sells like fun.
Lyrics include:
"Who is your daddy, and what does he do?
Does he fix cars that women crash?
Or does he live in New York and drive a cab?
Some of your daddies just work a normal boring desk job
But one of them is a drug dealer and I am really a cop
Who is your daddy, and what does he do"
There's a huge clip of funny stuff on Youtube, It's the Not so Hidden Track on the album.
Oh, and you can buy stuff here.
