When Lourdes, Madonna's daughter, asked Mummy why she kissed other girls, Mummy said it was a symbol of passing on the flame "I am the mommy pop star and she is the baby pop star and I am kissing her to pass my energy on to her."
But Mummy was a bloody copy cat. Lars and Kirk from Metallica locked lips during the Load and Re-Load tour a number of times. Now that's controversy in the timid 90s.
They lost fans when they lopped off their hair and Kirk started wearing eyeliner (he shouldn't have stopped).
Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammet ham it up for the camera.
Metallica has a large number of misogynistic, beer belly and bearded fans. I know, I was surrounded by them at the Big Day Out. It smelt bad.
"Gar - we're MEN" is essentially what James Hetfield screams when he gets on stage. It's in every solo, every double kick. When low on testosterone, you listen to Metallica.
You gotta hand it to the guys when they're willing to swap saliva.
