Jaime T-panic prevention

The easiest way I can describe Jamie T is to the think of Mike Skinner from the Streets, but with a sense of vocal tuning and harmony. The singer/songwriter from England captured the Australian listening public with heavy rotation on Triple J with the single 'Sheila' taken off the album. The style is hard to pigeon hole, which I think is great. It shows alot of originality being able to blend urban sounds with pop/rock structures and that great pommy git vocal whine.
The track 'Calm Down Dearest' is a beautifully crafted pop song. While 'Back On The Game' is more harsh in production featuring just Jamie and his acoustic guitar. 'Pacemaker' blends hip hop with some soul guitar breaks and 'If You Got The Money' has real traditional brit pop feel to it.
Claiming to have written, recorded and mixed the album himself in his bedroom, the quality of the production proves how easy it now is for anyone to make their own album. All you really need is a laptop, pro tools and microphone and your half way to recording an album like this one. Mind you, Jamie T has done a wonderful job with this record, so you may have some high standards to live up to. Coming out over New Years with is band The Pacemakers to play some of the festival shows like Falls and Southwest in Perth plus a couple of sideshows along the east coast. With a reputation to being a very witty and humorous man onstage, you'd be well advised to check him out.
