Brian Eno -”Small Craft On A Milk Sea”

There’s no doubt that Brian Eno is a legend. The brains behind the avant-garde genre, he has had an influence on musicians and fans the world over. He has also created a solo career in which he takes music and turns into an art form. He was employed to provide music for a live on going art installation in Sydney in 2009 (Luminous festival) and the music he has created has forged a new path in his stellar career.
On “Small Craft On A Milk Sea” the solely instrumental album experiments with sounds to create a complex work of art instead of a straight forward music album. The music flows from light and airy to dark and industrial. This is music you can fall asleep to producing beautiful lullabies to haunting nightmares. Eno has worked hard to find the right sounds to complement each other to create this songs. The tracks appear simple but are quite layered and textured.
This record is certainly an acquired taste, but well worth giving a spin if for nothing else, something different to play around the house as background music.
