Bluejuice @ The Metro 31/10/09

I love Halloween. I love seeing people dress up. Alot of blood splattered brides, zombies and girls dressed as Cleopatra we’re the common themes. Bluejuice walked out on stage wrapped head to toe in toilet paper to look like mummies. Underneath were skeleton costumes just for tonight's festivities. By the second song the stage was flooded with toilet paper. It also explains why there was none in the actual bathrooms!?!
Tonight was the bands first headlining show at the Metro and they stepped it up to put on a great show. Full of energy and good vibes, the two singers criss crossed across the stage with Jake leaping about in and out of the audience and up and down the speaker stacks. I haven’t seen a singer show so much energy since watching Patience from The Grates.
The guys also treated us with about 4 or 5 new songs, which at one point they even commented ‘So we’ve released a new album and we’re gonna play nothing off it, just new songs!’ But we were treated to my favorite song of the year ‘Broken Leg’ and tracks from the first record ‘Vitriol’ and ‘Hunnamunnafeeb’.
A full house at the Metro loved every second of it. The floor was jumping, the crowd were singing and dancing and everyone left feeling good for what they just experienced. Bluejuice are a fun band. No doubts about it. Their energy and enthusiasm drags you into the songs and makes you want to have a bit of a boogie. A great way to spend a saturday night. I love Halloween.
